Favorite Fishing Story:
When I find a good bass lake,
I'm reluctant to tell anyone the lake's name. Actually, I wouldn't
tell my own mother. I don't fish Rabbit Lake near Crosby anymore, but
for years I did and no one ever found out about it. One day, I was
nearing the lake on a guiding trip and the guy asked me where we were
going. The question caught me off guard, but just then we were passing
a road construction sign and I answered the question by saying we're
going to "Loose Gravel Lake." He believed me and the lake got a new
name.

| Favorite Fishing Story:
I had a family out on a pontoon and they were catching a lot of
sunfish keeping me very busy. When one of the kids was reeling in a
sunfish a northern pike came up and grabbed it. Somehow the pike got
hooked and the sunfish had the line through its lip and was up the
line about six inches above the hook. We ended up landing both fish
and the northern pike happened to be his biggest fish ever! |

I was guiding Joe Sensor of the MN Vikings on the Governor's Fishing
Opener one year and it was COLD. After fishing for an hour or so I
suggested that we stop at my home (which is located on Round Lake
off of Gull) for breakfast and to warm up. We did and as we were
having a cup of coffee, Joe spotted our piano in our living room and
began to play chop-sticks. My two young children (who were huge
football fans and who we were basically forcing to take piano
lessons) watched and listened in awe. Needless to say, we never had
to drag them to piano lessons again. |

| Memorial Tribute to Ron Kristofferson |

| After a long and courageous battle
with cancer, Ron passed away in November 2008. Ron will long be
remembered not only as a legendary fishing guide, but also as a
humorous story teller. Ron will be missed by the guides and all
the staff at Cragun’s. |
