funds for distribution throughout the State of Hockey on behalf of the
foundation. The event consisted of 33 boats, each guided by one of
Minnesota’s finest professional anglers, a Minnesota Wild
player/executive or local celebrity and an exclusive contributing guest
of the 10,000 Rinks Foundation.
The
tournament got underway on Tuesday morning. Pro anglers, Wild personnel
and contributing sponsors went through the check-in process at Cragun's
before eating lunch on the south beach. The group of 28 boats broke away
at 1:00 p.m. in search of a six-limit stringer of largemouth bass. The
temperature topped out at 90 degrees and after four hours of hunting,
the groups returned to the beach for the weigh-in. Big bass hunters Chip
Leer, John Saranzak and Fox Sport Net's Clay Matvick hauled in the
largest fish of the day (3.47 lbs.) while the leading stringer after day
one belonged to Paul Neumann, Kirk Olson and Susan Marcotte. Pierre-Marc
Bouchard's crew was the lone boat held without a fish. Sergei Zholtok's
boat bagged the second -largest fish of the day (2.56 lbs.) and they
currently hold the third place position after day one (11.08). Roughly
100 participants and volunteers washed up and traded stories over dinner
and drinks at Cragun's in anticipation of day two.
Wednesday's event began with a breakfast
a 7:00 a.m. Fishing started at 8:00 a.m. and continued through the early
afternoon. Final weigh-in will took place at 2:00 p.m. followed by an
